Mieke Singh Dodd is a costume and props maker whom recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).
Mieke creates engaging, accessible theatre that relates to topics about identity and disability. Mieke began in devised theatre as a performer before quickly finding a love for backstage and making.
Mieke worked in the UK on Red Hood Production's immersive installations of 'Big Teeth' (2017, 2018) and 'The Sandman' (2019).
Mieke's VCA credits include Costume Maker on 'Merrily We Roll Along' (2022) and 'Sometimes, Always, Rarely, Never' (2022), Head of Staging for 'Gesturing Weaving Unfolding' (2023) and Senior Costumier for the VCA dance production 'before, between, beyond'.
Recent internships have included experience in puppet making, props and set decorating. Mieke has a strong interest in performance art, immersive theatre, puppetry, crochet, lace making and embroidery.
