Lara Gabor (she/her) is a lighting and digital media designer and technician, based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her upbringing in Singapore fostered a passion for multidisciplinary work and musical theatre which has flourished upon relocating back to Australia.
In 2023, Lara completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). Lara’s VCA credits include Lighting and Vision Designer on Clare Barron’s ‘Dance Nation’ (dir. Emily Tomlins, 2023) and on contemporary devised work ‘Gesturing Weaving Unfolding’ (chor. James Batchelor, 2023), Programmer and Operator on contemporary dance work ‘Theatrum Botanicum’ (chor. Gregory Lorenzutti, 2022), and Deputy Electrician, Programmer and Operator on ‘Alter Kinetic’ (chor. Lucy Guerin, Ngioka Bunda-Heath, and, Julie Minaai, 2022).
Lara hopes to continue her practice in Australia and beyond, sharing her enthusiasm for theatrical storytelling.
